A Silly Little Symphony
January 27 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm UTC+11
Rock star baby, total rock star! We are talking drugs, alcohol, and your underpants being thrown up to the stage… well that’s the dream, however ukulele players aren’t viewed as rock stars, yet! Alex Gay comes to the Melbourne cabaret scene strumming away on his collection of ukuleles just for you.
A Silly Little Symphony presents all the great classical pieces you know, as you’ve never heard them before. Through snippets of sonatas, tiny tunes and mini-minuets. You’ll hear everything from great orchestral pieces, to the sweetest concertos, on one tiny little instrument. Alex has worked to fit music for a 70+ symphony orchestra onto one little 4 stringed instrument… just like fitting into those mini shorts at the beginning of summer. Along with his witticisms and deeply arousing voice you’ll see he’s had great fun alone turning his little hobby into something grand and riveting. So please give this guy an audience so his pets can have a night off.
Supported by various other music genres Alex and his uke will guide the audience through a fun loving and very enjoyable night of comedy.
“Honestly, the ukulele thing is a bit overdone” – Theatre Director
