Kira Carden (Hu-La-La)
Kira has been performing with Hu-La-La since co-founding the group in 2002. Circus is one of the many shades of glitter in my make-up case, but what is life without a bit
of sparkle? Kira is a character vaudevillian with fingers in a lot of pies. Inspired by whimsy, the strangeness of life, and the bygone era of “flash acts”, she’ll tell you a story, be it political commentary or fantasy escapism, using circus, burlesque and physical theatre.
Her style is old school vaudeville undressed, innovated and distorted to capture the mind of the now.
Betty Grumble is a surreal Showgurl, obscene beauty queen and Ecosexual . Conducting Total Beauty ceremonies of riotous flesh, she invited you to come within for her matric cultivation of that renewable love energy! Are you Betty to Grumble? Yes.
The Amazing Ari:
Continues to explore and develop new aspects of performance and invent fresh discoveries with a unique approach to aerial disciplines. Taking the style from traditional to radical. He continually travels for performance, choreography and as a teacher of the aerial arts to other aspiring performers.
Lillian Starr is known around the world for her audacious, conceptual and layered routines that cross the divide between performance art and burlesque. She was a Headline performer of the Australian Burlesque Festival (2014) and Perth International Burlesque Festival (2015) and has represented Australia at the New York and Paris Burlesque Festivals on several occasions. Her diverse practice spans Drag, directing (Sydney Mardi Gras Sleaze Ball), impersonating Madonna and creating performance installation work for Performance Space’s inaugural “Day 4 Night”.
