Daylight Saving by Nick Enright
October 25 @ 7:30 pm - October 28 @ 11:00 pm UTC+11
Flick has it all; a successful Sydney restaurant, a home with water views overlooking Pittwater and a handsome jet-setting husband. Whilst trying to cope with a ‘gay chef’ crisis, her husband, Tom, will be absent on their wedding anniversary managing a young neurotic tennis pro, Jason, who is having trouble with his psychic.
But with the sudden visit by an old flame Joshua, infidelity could be on the cards. But Felicity’s plans to make it a candle-lit reunion go awry when a string of unexpected visitors drop by, including her stressed-out neighbour Stephanie, and Bunty, her nosy mother, who becomes increasingly more difficult to get out of the house.
The play is set over two weekends in March in the late 1980s. The second weekend the clocks are set back one hour as daylight saving ends.
Written by one of Australia’s much loved playwrights, Nick Enright (Cloud Street, The Boy from Oz), Daylight Saving is a fast-paced comedy about love, loneliness, food and friendship.
With Katharine Babatzanis, William Blake, Allison Brown, Emma Dalton, Julian Levanic & Charles Upton.
