Dusty Limits: GRIN
June 21 @ 7:00 pm - June 25 @ 8:00 pm UTC+10
Dusty Limits, one of the UK’s most celebrated cabaret artists, delivers an hour of original songs written with collaborator Michael Roulston. With influences ranging from Tom Waits to Cole Porter to Jacques Brel to Schubert, the songs cover subjects ranging from addiction to lost love to religious hypocrisy and the moral poverty of wealth, strung ogether like darkly-glittering jewels by Mr Limits’ mordant observations about the pursuit of so-called happiness and the ghastly state of politics.
Described by Time Out London as ‘The Trailblazer’ of the ‘new cabaret’ scene, Dusty Limits has been at the forefront of London cabaret for over a decade and has performed everywhere from Joe’s Pub in New York to backroom bars in Berlin. Michael Roulston is one of the most in-demand musical directors in British cabaret. Together and apart they have worked with the shining stars of the genre, including Meow Meow, Amanda Palmer, Ali McGregor, Dillie Keane, Christine Bovill and Geraldine Quinn.
Fans of The Divine Comedy and the Tiger Lillies should attend; the easily-offended should steer clear.. Dusty and Michael will be coming directly from performing the Australian premiere of the show at the hugely prestigious Adelaide Cabaret Festival. EARLYBIRD SPECIAL: Book by 5pm Friday 19 May using the codeword ‘whimsical’ to get tickets for $25!
