Be enticed into a world of cabaret glamour, where the resplendent diva and acclaimed jazz singer Mama Alto and pianist extraordinaire Miss Chief will beguile you with sumptuous ballads, fierce blues scorchers, and poignant torch songs. Mama Alto’s luscious voice and gender transcendence will thrill you during evocative interpretations of jazz standards from the American songbook. She has sold out the Melbourne Recital Centre, delighted at the Havana International Theatre Festival, and captivated the hearts and minds of audiences… And now she comes to enchant Adelaide Cabaret Fringe.
“We are thrilled to return to Adelaide, where we had a fabulous time in our award winning Adelaide Fringe 2014 shows, as well as our acclaimed performances at Adelaide Cabaret Festival 2016 with Finucane & Smith,” Mama Alto purrs. “And it is always a pleasure to sing in the intimate La Boheme club room!”
Devised & performed by Mama Alto (vocals) & Miss Chief (musical directress & piano)
Presented by Mama Alto & La Boheme
“Mama Alto is an exceptionally talented singer, who make the question as to whether it is a woman or a man singing obsolete. It is clearly an angel.”
