PORTable Container: Celeste Potter vs Mesh Mash
September 5, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - September 9, 2017 @ 1:00 pm UTC+10
A pop up creative space in a shipping container, located in a new place each week through September in Hobsons Bay. Featuring young artists from local design house Mesh Mash, a different guest artist in each place and you, PORTable Container will be a choose-your-own-adventure art voyage, different every day.
At Harrington Square it will be Mesh Mash vs Celeste Potter leading the way. Celeste Potter is an ARIA Award nominated illustrator and animation director. She has created album art and music videos for some of Australia’s best loved indie artists, including Courtney Barnett, Regurgitator, Sarah Blasko, Jen Cloher, Husky and more. Find out more about Celeste at http://www.celestepotter.com
The other locations and artists for PORTable Container are:
• 13 to 16 September at The Substation, Newport with party-maker Plastic Loaves
• 20 to 23 September, Central Square, Altona Meadows with 3D street artist Drasko Boljevic
• 27 and 28 September at Woods and Lohse Streets, Laverton with award-winning puppetry and experimental arts group, The Indirect Object
This is part of Art and Public Places, a month-long, multi venue celebration of art and ideas, in all their forms, throughout Hobsons Bay. Everyday spaces become art sites as we discover artwork and artists from around the world and around the corner. Art in Public Places reminds us of the importance of public space for its ability to host diverse social exchanges and the communication of ideas to those who seek them, and those who happen upon them, in equal measure. Featuring a dynamic visual representation of sound, an augmented reality guided tour that takes care of you to, the international premier of a film about our very own Laverton, ‘Glow’ – by kids, for kids – and so much more.
