We acknowledge that our event will take place on the stolen land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, whose sovereignty was never ceded. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land, and we pay our respect to their elders both past and present.
Trans Day of Remembrance is an annual day that memorialises the members of our community that have been taken due to transphobic violence and rhetoric. This year, join Ygender and community in remembering those taken from us.
It is important as trans youth to hold space for each other, for the more vulnerable members of our community, on this day and to uplift one another with resilience and power. We do this by sharing story, poetry, music, food, company and conversation.
There will be workshops on the day as well to memorialise those taken.
The space is wheel chair accessible, with a quiet space and gender neutral accessible bathrooms. Please let us know of any dietary or requirements or accessible needs.
